The Quebec general election of 2007 was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the National Assembly of Quebec. Despite recording only a 33% share of the popular vote, the Quebec Liberal Party managed to win a plurality of seats. The Liberals were, however, reduced to a minority government, Quebec's first in 129 years, since the 1878 general election. The Action démocratique du Québec, in a major breakthrough, became the official opposition. The Parti Québécois was relegated to third-party status for the first time since the 1973 election. The Liberals won their lowest share of the popular vote since Confederation, and the PQ won their lowest share since 1973 and their second lowest ever. Each of the three major parties won nearly one-third of the popular vote, easily the closest three-way split in Quebec electoral history. Voter turnout among those eligible was 71.28%.

The pick of the week is "Man found stuck in grocery store ductwork". A man was rescued on the morning of March 27, 2007 after he was found stuck in the air-conditioning ductwork of a Glendale supermarket. They assume it was a burglary-gone-bad and Cole said when workers arrived at the Food City this morning at 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road they saw debris on the floor, along with some gloves. When they looked up, Cole said, they saw a guy stuck in the ductwork. Cole said officers thought the man had been severely injured because he wasn't moving. Firefighters were brought to the scene and managed to rescue the man, who wasn't immediately identified.Cole said he wasn't as severely injured as thought, however.Police planned to question him once he had been treated for any injuries.

I think the most difficult thing in this class would be two actually. One is this essay that I'm working on which is essay number three. Because I don't know how to organize my thoughts. Another difficult thing in this class would be keeping up with my assignments. those are the only difficult task I'm having in English 071.

My pick of the week is "Arizona among top 10 states for mortgage fraud". Arizona has went up to No. 7 in a ranking of states with the greatest amount of mortgage fraud, passing the 23rd spot it held the previous year. They say this is the highest Arizona has placed on the Mortgage Asset Research Institute's annual fraud survey. The placement is based on the number of mortgage fraud cases per total of state home loans. Data from the nation's biggest lenders are used to compile the survey. In January, legislation is making mortgage fraud a felony and a bill to license loan officers were introduced. It is estimated that 18,000 unlicensed people are taking mortgage applications and loan commissions in Arizona. But both bills could die if they aren't heard this week.

A mirror neuron is a neuron which fires both when an animal performs an action and when the animal observes the same action performed by another animal. Thus, the neuron "mirrors" the behavior of another animal, as though the observer were himself performing the action. These neurons have been observed in primates, in some birds, and in humans. In humans, they have been found in Broca's area and the inferior parietal cortex of the brain. Some scientists consider mirror neurons one of the most important findings of neuroscience in the last decade. See for example, an essay by Ramachandran on their potential importance in imitation and language.

It's been going good so far in this course. I like the fact that we have in class activities, that way we all get to participate together. What’s changed since the last time I wrote about the course nothing really except now we are getting into essay number three and this one is going to be five paragraphs long. I'm sort of looking forward but not really. lol

Phoenix officials agreed Wednesday to pay nearly $100 million to ensure shoppers, office workers and public-transit patrons have a place to park at CityNorth, a $2 billion luxury development that will cater to the Valley's affluent residents and visitors. The City Council voted 7-2 to approve the agreement, which offers one of the largest sales-tax rebates in Arizona and gives Phoenix a competitive edge over neighboring Scottsdale. Councilmen Tom Simplot and Greg Stanton voted no.

International Women's Day is marked on 8 March every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. Started as a political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries .In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their sympathy and love to the women around them - somewhat similar to Western Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day mixed together. In others, however, the political and human rights theme as designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.

Today I woke up and I realize how much I enjoy attending school. Not only does it help me understand everything better, but sometimes it helps forget my worries that I have about other things. For example my mom had a hysterectomy almost three years ago and then she had this minor surgery where they put a support for her bladder. Ever since the last surgery she has been complaining that her bladder is still bothering her. Yesterday the Doctors assistant called and gave me the results of her MRI. The assistant said that they found the linning of the bladder to be thickin(whatever that means) so anywho now my mom is really worried. Not because of the fact that she might need another minor surgery, but because cancer runs in my family. So until March 12 exactly two oclock pm we won't know what to expect.
